Hexagonal holes are an excellent option to round-hole sheets in situations when a larger ratio of the open area is needed. On top of that, perforated sheets with hexagonal holes have an attractive look. They can be used in a broad range of applications in many different branches of industry, civil engineering and modern architecture.
Perforated sheets with fine hexagonal openings of up to 10 mm are most frequently used in car industry and in farm machinery to cover air ducting to the engine.
Generally, you will find sheets with medium-sized openings, ranging from 10 to 20 mm, as backing for PCs, servers or loudspeaker systems. They are also used for the manufacture of promotional display stands.
Perforated sheets with large hexagonal openings of over 20 mm are most often used in architectural projects.
Most types of sheets with hexagonal holes are made to order. However, steel sheets with Hv 2–2.5 mm hexagonal openings are usually kept on stock.
